Whoever regularly spends time on Twitch is familiar with the phenomenon: a stream starts off completely normal, then suddenly a hype train kicks in – and within minutes, the chat completely spirals out of control. That is exactly what happened to German streamer and content creator Sterzik. What began as an ordinary stream turned into one of the most emotional and chaotic waves of support in his entire career. What he earned in less than an hour equals more than a monthly salary for many people.
Sterzik In The Twitch Scene
Sebastian Sterzik has become one of the best-known German gaming creators. He has been producing content on YouTube and Twitch for many years and has gradually built a loyal community over time.
Today, he works full-time as a content creator, is part of the Instinct3 network from Spandau, and has established himself firmly in the German streaming landscape with regular streams, gaming content, and creative formats. That is exactly what happened to Sterzik – but on a scale rarely seen even by long-time Twitch viewers. The hype train eventually reached Level 26. With every new gifted sub, Sterzik became more speechless. He repeatedly tried to calm his community down.“Guys, that’s enough now. We haven’t even started the game yet.”But this reaction only seemed to encourage the chat even more.
The more the Berlin-based streamer asked in disbelief why people were still gifting subs, the more support came in. At some point, he sat in front of his camera with his mouth wide open, completely unable to process what was happening.“I don’t even know how to react to this. How I’m supposed to say thank you!”And soon after came the most repeated sentence of the stream:“Why? I’m literally not doing anything!”
This honest and unfiltered reaction made the moment especially relatable for many viewers. Instead of a staged reaction, his sheer overwhelm was clearly visible.
One Viewer Gifts Over 600 Subs
One particularly striking moment: a single viewer reportedly gifted over 600 subs during the stream. An extraordinary level of support. How much money Sterzik ultimately earned from all of this cannot be determined exactly from the outside. Twitch takes a share of subscription revenue, and depending on the country, taxes and additional fees also apply. However, various Twitch sub calculators provide a rough estimate. For 1,500 subs, the total is estimated at around €3,000 to €4,000 gross (approximately $3,300 to $4,400 USD), depending on sub type and other factors.
Own Record? Once Again
The story becomes even more insane when looking at Sterzik’s personal statistics. During the stream, he revealed that his previous all-time sub record of around 7,000 active subs had been broken again – already for the fifth time this year.
For many creators, such a milestone would be a once-in-a-lifetime career highlight. For Sterzik, however, his community continues to raise the bar again and again.
A Sign Of His Current Rise
The surge in subs shows one thing above all: Sterzik is currently in one of the most successful phases of his career. Regular streams, diverse gaming content, collaborations with other creators, and his relaxed interaction style have led to a steady increase in viewers.
