The trailer for IT: Welcome to Derry, the prequel to the IT movies, has dropped.
The horrors of Derry, Maine, are far from over, as the first official trailer for IT: Welcome to Derry has finally arrived and gives us a sneak peek into the chilling prequel. With Pennywise making his return, this series will unravel the dark history that has haunted the town for decades.
A Glimpse Into The Dark Past
IT: Welcome to Derry takes us back to 1962, years before the events of the films. In the trailer, we meet a young boy who says, "Anywhere but Derry," giving us our first clue about the terrifying town that seems to have a long history of fear. The story also follows a black family that moves into Derry, facing immediate tension and hostility from people due to segregation. Local children start investigating strange disappearances, uncovering more about the town’s scary and weird past and the entity that haunts it. And of course, the trailer ends with a glimpse of Pennywise, the iconic clown.

The Cast: New Faces But Same Pennywise
Bill Skarsgård is back as Pennywise, and this time he’s joined by a new cast, including Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso.
The series is produced by Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti, with Jason Fuchs, who worked on IT: Chapter Two, and Brad Caleb Kane as co–showrunners.
How Long Do We Have To Wait?
IT: Welcome to Derry is set to premiere in the fall of 2025 on HBO Max. The first season will consist of nine episodes, with two future seasons exploring other parts of Derry’s twisted history. Each season will take us 27 years into the past, following its return every 27 years.
The trailer looks incredibly promising and terrifying, and we can't wait to see what’s in store for us.
