Different Youtubers are calling out Pirate Software after his beef with Stop Killing Games and other controversies. Now, even his abilities as a programmer and developer are being questioned.

Jason "Thor" Hall – better known as Pirate Software – received a lot of criticism lately. Ever since he was exposed for misrepresenting the initiative Stop Killing Games, people were watching him more closely. After all, Pirate Software presents himself as someone who is an expert authority figure in the matter of game development and programming.
His MS Paint Shorts on Youtube are the main reason for his success. In these, he explained many different topics – mainly about software and development – in a simplified way, using MS Paint. He himself claims he worked seven years at blizzard and hacked into power plants for the department of energy.
Coding Jesus Exposes Pirate Software
Youtuber "Coding Jesus" likes to use his expertise as a developer to review other people's codes and teach about coding in general. He made a video to look at one of Pirate Software's codes – the one he has been working on for a long time. Thor's been working on a game called Heartbound for 8 years, which is clearly inspired by Undertale. Many people have given up on the game ever leaving its early access state, as the development moves at a snails pace, if at all.
When Coding Jesus wanted to look at Pirate Software's code for the game, he noticed that of all the Dev Streams up on his channel, there are only two in which he actually shows code of the game. In none of them does he ever seem to write code. And all Coding Jesus could find of the code was – in his eyes – sloppy, and inefficient.
Pirate Software's Image VS Reality
The Video of Coding Jesus started a small feud between the two content creators. During Coding Jesus' last video, he talks about the disconnect between how Pirate Software is perceived and what he actually accomplished to back his image up. On the platform Github for example, many developers store, manage, create or share their codes. Yet in over 20 years in the industry Pirate Software has not uploaded a single line of code.
The best example Coding Jesus gave for this disconnect was Pirate Software's claim of hacking power plants. He purposely puts the image of a genius hacker in the viewers mind, who can quickly shut down whole power plants, but when you look at his LinkedIn, he just wrote phishing e-mails.
Failing To Take Accountability
Many people seem to have lost trust in Pirate Software. His average viewer count and followers are declining more every day. Heartbound's recent reviews are at 7%, with reviews that indicate that they are either frustrated with the state of the game or the Youtuber's controversies. The most frustrating aspect is that Thor never seems to take accountability for his actions.
Whether it's the World of Warcraft beef, the Stop Killing Games controversy, or him exaggerating his skills: If he just admitted that he was wrong or at least be open to valid criticism, it's very likely that the hate wave would have died down by now. But the more Pirate Software defends his claims – no matter how wrong – the more criticism seems to come his way.
