Let’s talk what we know – and what has fans buzzing.

Wizards Beyond Waverly Place picks up years after the original series.
Justin Russo is now a dad, training three young wizards (including his own daughter) while trying to keep the magical world from falling apart. Nostalgic chaos? You bet.
Selena Gomez made surprise appearances in the first and final episodes – and just like that, Alex Russo was back in our lives.
Season 2 Is Official – And So Is Selena
Disney officially confirmed Season 2 of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place on March 31, 2025. Filming began in April in Los Angeles, and the new episodes are set to premiere this fall on Disney Channel and Disney+. Fans are buzzing with excitement.
Selena Gomez showed she’s all in by reposting David Henrie’s hype-filled message:
“WE’RE SO BACK. Season 2 is gonna be 🤯. If you had big questions about season 1, then strap in y’all.”
Selena will appear again as Alex Russo in a guest role and continues as co-executive producer. The Russo family cast — Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele, Max Matenko, Taylor Cora, Mimi Gianopulos, and David Henrie — are all back to deliver more magic.
What Else Is Confirmed?
The plot focuses on Justin Russo, who steps back into the magical world as a mentor after years away. His sister Alex asks him to train the young witch Billie. The story revolves around Justin’s family – his wife Giada and their kids Roman and Milo – as they explore their own magical powers.
Central to the season are the training of these young wizards and their preparation for the “Family Wizard Competition.” Additionally, a new mysterious threat arises that could upset both the magical balance and the Russo family’s life.
Other confirmed characters include Winter, Billie’s best friend, as well as Giada, Roman, and Milo. Justin’s parents, Jerry and Theresa Russo, also appear as guest or side characters. While fan sources mention recurring roles like Minister Bigelow McFigglehorn and Bella Bianchi, these have not been officially confirmed for season 2.
Still Just Rumors...
There’s plenty of buzz around rival wizard families and the possible return of beloved characters like Max Russo – but so far, it’s all hearsay. The showrunners are keeping things tightly under wraps, referring only to a “mysterious” new threat without offering specifics.
