A new show about demon hunting by one of RWBY's fight animators seems like a match made in heaven. And it looks awesome!

RWBY by Rooster Teeth has always been a mixed bag. The animated show that started as a web series about teens at an academy for monster slaying fell flat in its story telling and overall animation quality. The show's strong suit and one of the main reasons for its success was the animation of the fighting scenes.
Dillon Gu was one of the main fight animators on season 3 of RWBY. Since then, he's been uploading his own animated projects on his YouTube channel, "dillongoo". In 2020 Gu formed DillonGoo Studios with other professional artists and friends. Now the studio has released a trailer for a pilot of their own original show, and it looks great.
SOUL MART Is Proof That Small Shows Deserve More Attention!

After the main character Kieru drinks from a cursed energy can, a countdown appears on his neck. If the countdown reaches zero, he falls asleep and dies. He strikes a deal with a demon that's been trying to hunt him down, to help him lift the curse and to prevent more demonic products to appear in convenience stores. Also by his side is a demon hunter that is scared of them.
WE'RE MAKING AN ALL NEW ORIGINAL ANIME!Cursed products have been appearing on convenience store shelves, and it's up to Kieru to find and put a stop to their demonic distributor before he falls asleep forever. Step into SOUL MART, a new pilot coming to YouTube.#SoulMart pic.twitter.com/VLBTwfD2Xh

The trailer immediately sells the show and its rather simple premise. The animations look smooth, well put-together, and the colors pop. The bold color choices and the neon-futuristic aesthetic give it a unique vibe. The trailer sets up a very "Shonen"-like approach of action, adventure, and humor. So far, we have no info on an upcoming release date for "SOUL MART".
It’s kind of wild that while so many movies and shows are getting delayed or canceled mid-production, we might actually be entering a new age of entertainment. Small indie teams are creating Oscar-winning films like Flow using open-source software, and web series like The Amazing Digital Circus have become so popular they’ve even made it onto platforms like Prime Video. YouTube shows like this one definitely deserve more attention.
