Steven Yuen will be in the Aang Avatar movie - fans are speculating what character he'll play.

Steven Yuen will be one of the voice actors starring in the upcoming animated Aang Avatar movie. Here's what we know about this project so far:
Aang Avatar Movie
The Aang Avatar movie is one of the titles in a series of new Avatar: The Last Airbender movies produced by Avatar Studios and Nickelodeon Movies and released by Paramount Pictures.
Initially, the film was supposed to cover Avatar Kyoshi but was changed to be a portrayal of Team Avatar as young adults, with Aang and Katara as its main characters.
The other two movies in the series were announced to star Zuko and Korra as their protagonists.
Currently, the movie is scheduled to be released in American theaters on January 30, 2026. However, while it's the first of the three movies, we don't have an official title yet, so "Aang Avatar movie" is just a placeholder.
The name was rumored to be "Aang: The Last Airbender", but a spokesperson of Paramount Pictures has confirmed to IGN that this isn't true, as well as confirming Steven Yuen's involvement.
Some of the voices are already listed on IMDb:
- Eric Nam as Aang
- Jessica Matten as Katara
- Román Zaragoza as Sokka
- Dionne Quan as Toph
- Dante Basco as Zuko
- Dave Bautista as an unknown antagonist
Steven Yuen's Role
The bad news first: While Steven Yuen, also the voice of Amazon Prime Videos' Invincible, has been confirmed by Paramount to be involved in the movie (according to IGN), we don't know what character he'll play yet.
Fun fact, though: This isn't Yuen's first role in the franchise. In the second season of The Legend of Korra, he voiced Avatar Wan, the first Avatar to ever exist in the ATLA universe!
Considering that Aang has the ability to talk to his past lives, it would technically be possible that he resumes this role.
This would actually be the first time we'd see Aang talk to Wan since Wan doesn't appear in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
However, this isn't confirmed, and he could just as well play another familiar protagonist or even a completely new character since the movie takes place quite a while after the moment the show, and even the comics, end.
Are you looking forward to the new ATLA movies? What character do you suspect Yuen will play?
