Twitch Streamer Hmblzayy is undertaking a massive 3,000 mile journey on foot for charity. He was just walking on the right side of the road when suddenly, a vehicle hits him from behind and sends him flying off camera.

Isaiah Thomas, better known online as Hmblzayy, has set himself the ambition of walking 3,000 miles across the United States from Philadelphia to California. He shares his journey on his social media and streams live on his Twitch.

He is not just walking to pass the time, but to raise money to build a trade school for teenagers to teach them practical skills like plumbing, electrical engineering, financial literacy skills and accounting. His GoFundMe is set at a $200k goal with around $45k already funded.

He states he was inspired by his own story, recounting how he had to drop out of college because his parents couldn't afford the cost.

I wasn’t able to continue college after my sophomore year because my parents couldn’t afford it. That challenge forced me to find another way. I started small, selling pressed hoodies out of the back of my car, and through hard work, consistency, and belief in myself, I built that hustle into a profitable business. That journey showed me something powerful: there isn’t just one path to success.

Now he wants to help others to find their way in life and help them develop their skills.

This is bigger than me. It’s about creating access, building futures, and showing young people that their circumstances don’t define their potential.

Thomas was on his 33rd day of the journey on Tuesday, April 28. Just before 3pm, he was walking along Interstate 40 in Indiana on the right lane of the road with his cart of essentials in front of him and livestreaming as usual. A dark blue Mazda started trailing Thomas when a silver sedan came speeding, rear-ended the Mazda, tires screeching, and sent it into the back of the unsuspecting streamer. He went flying off, his cart and camera rolling in the street.

Thomas luckily seemed not hurt too badly and got right back up picking up the camera and showing the aftermath. Viewers could see one of his shoes missing and his clothes torn. His belongings that were in his cart lay scattered across the street. A woman off-camera could be heard shouting, “B ! Did you not f-ing see me?”

Police and firefighters were called and arrived 20 minutes later. Thomas, being very well and lively for what happened to him, thanks his back brace for his good condition. He tells police:

Good thing I had a back brace on, that saved me.

He was still taken to the hospital for evaluation.

"God Is The Greatest"

Later, the streamer updated his fans via an Instagram post, reassuring them that he is fine, showing himself in a hospital bed wearing a neckbrace.

Appreciate everybody that’s checking on me. God is the greatest. I’m good, they’re just running some tests right now. We’ll be back live streaming real soon. We’re gonna finish this race, man. We won’t let the devil win. We’re gonna make sure we finish this marathon that God put me on. God is the greatest. I’m alive, and that’s all that matters.

He underwent scans for possible neck and spinal injuries and his condition seems to be stable and not life-threatening despite the violent crash. He is also very optimistic about continuing his mission, giving no indications of doubt that he will start walking and streaming again soon.

His fans are fully supporting him, sending him well wishes and prayers. Others do bring up safety concerns walking on a road like this even with his precautions of hazard lights, safety vest and back protector in place.

He can really call himself lucky that he got away this unscathed from such a frightening crash.
