A streamer wanted to expose a security flaw at a major festival. Instead, the stunt cost him a finger.
Brazilian Twitch streamer Adalton Rodrigues, better known as Lodk, already had a ticket for Rock in Rio when he decided to test the festival's security. His attempt to find an alternative way inside ended in a trip to the hospital.
Streamer Tries to Sneak Into Festival
Lodk reportedly spent time looking for potential weaknesses around the festival grounds in Rio de Janeiro. Rather than simply using his ticket, he wanted to see whether he could find a way into the restricted area.
The streamer eventually spotted a fence near a gas station and decided to climb over it. However, the stunt quickly went wrong when a ring on his right hand became caught on the fence.
After landing on the other side, Lodk's friend reportedly noticed that the streamer's finger was still caught on the barrier. The injury was severe enough that doctors later determined the finger could not be saved.
Lodk Regrets The Dangerous Stunt
Lodk was taken to a hospital in Rio de Janeiro, where he underwent surgery to amputate the injured finger. He was later discharged.
The streamer has since admitted that he regrets the decision. He also deleted footage of the incident, reportedly because he was concerned about potential consequences for his Twitch channel.
Rock in Rio organizers said the area was monitored and restricted to authorized personnel. The festival also reportedly uses thousands of security staff alongside cameras, drones and other surveillance technology.
