The adventure begins, they were always beside you!

Critical Role fans, rejoice: we finally got a release date for the highly anticipated animated show about The Mighty Nein. What started out as some nerdy voice actors playing Dungeons and Dragons turned out to be an entertainment gold mine, and for good reason.

The Mighty Nein Premiere In November

After The Legend of Vox Machina (which will also continue with season 4 in 2026, by the way), the next adventuring party is coming to Prime in animated glory: The Mighty Nein will be making their way to the streaming platform on November 19, 2025. We also got the first look:

Nearly the whole gang is there – Yasha is notably absent and not getting to see the Aasimar barbarian in action yet might be sad for me personally, but considering the hype (and how it makes sense at this point in the story the sneak peek), I will let that one slide.

The Mighty Nein's Cast Is What We Like To Call A Nat 20 Performance Check

It comes as no surprise that CritRole's core cast will reprise their roles as their iconic characters:

  • Marisha Ray as Beau
  • Liam O'Brien as Caleb (speaking German – I mean, Zemnian)
  • Taliesin Jaffe as Mollymauk (if you know, you know)
  • Sam Riegel as Nott
  • Travis Willingham as Fjord
  • Laura Bailey as Jester
  • Matthew Mercer as... lots of people, including a prison guard, and of course, the one and only Essek

Ashley Johnson will also reprise her role as Yasha, even though we didn't get to see her just yet. During the original campaign, she also had to skip lots of sessions because she was busy working on the best game of all time (don't fight me on that), The Last of Us. Chances are Yasha is going to get enough spotlight in the animated show despite that, though – similar to how Pike also got to shine in The Legend of Vox Machina, regardless of Ashley's busy schedule and her missing long stretches of dice rolling.

The animated Critical Role shows also boast a guest cast that can make fans' eyes water with joy, and the Mighty Nein are no exception. We've got Robbie Daymond, Jonathan Frakes, Tim McGraw, Mark Strong, Alan Cumming, Anika Noni Rose, Ming-Na Wen, Auli'i Cravalhi and Rahul Kohli already confirmed to make appearances, although in undisclosed roles.

Folks, it's a good time to be a Critical Role fan. We've got a video game on the way, two animated shows nearly ready to go and a 550-hour Mighty Nein plot, near and dear to lots of people's hearts, coming to grace our screens this year.
