After eight hours of searching, they finally did it – they found the needle.
Twitch streamers Erobb and ExtraEmily embarked on the most impossible quest and actually did it – they found the needle in the haystack.
"Smaller Than a Single Strand Of Hay"
Erobb (Eric) and ExtraEmily are both popular streamers on Twitch. On March 24, they started a different kind of stream: In 84-degree weather (28°C) they set it as their goal to find one needle in a haystack. And the haystack was not small – the team purchased seven blocks of hay and piled them up in the backyard where they hid one particular sewing needle. The needle being "smaller than a single strand of hay", as Emily remarked.

While they searched for hours, viewers could donate to make the streamers spin a wheel of small punishments and inconveniences like "can't bend knees for 6 minutes" or "act like an animal for 10 minutes". Sometimes Emily tried to cover her eyes to only rely on her sense of touch.
The stream went on for hours. When the sun went down, the pair continued on with headlamps.
The Miracle
After a few hours of searching in the dark, and six hours total, Eric finally found a needle. The streamers celebrated their win until the chat started asking "who's gonna tell him?". So their team had to break the news that they had found the wrong needle. Along with the right one, the team hid 20 decoy needles in the haystack to make the whole thing even harder. Emily and Eric had to find the one with the golden tip.
Finally, after eight hours, 21 minutes and some more decoy needles, Emily found the needle on the ground near her feet.
The streamers celebrated and Emily held the prize up to the camera.
It was just right here, on the ground!
she exclaimed. And Eric, feeling delighted the search was finally over, said:
I love you, not in a weird way!

But there was one catch for Eric: Because Emily found the needle, he had to clean the whole mess up the next day.
The chat also exploded in celebration and congratulations. Many commemorated the momentous occasion with "I WAS HERE" messages. They accomplished the epitome of impossibility: They literally found a sewing needle in a giant haystack.
