Pakistani TikTok star Ayesha Gilamana, whose real name was Shamsoo Bibi, was shot dead in Taxila, Pakistan, on August 14. The 28-year-old was traveling in a car with her siblings when the attack happened. Police have now arrested her father and brother, alleging that members of her own family were involved in planning the killing.

Ayesha Gilamana Was Shot In Her Car

Gilamana had built a large following online, with around 1.3 million TikTok followers and 176,000 YouTube subscribers. According to reports, she left her home with her brother and 15-year-old sister after receiving a phone call. Two men on a motorcycle allegedly approached their vehicle and opened fire.

A bullet struck Gilamana in the neck, killing her. The car then reportedly lost control and crashed into a dump truck. Her sister was seriously injured, while her brother also survived the attack.

Her father, Fazal Sahibzada, initially filed a police complaint and reportedly claimed that his daughter had been killed because of a financial dispute.
He alleged that she had been trying to recover money connected to a land sale.

Police now believe that explanation may have been an attempt to mislead investigators.

Police Accuse Her Family Of Plotting The Murder

Rawalpindi police announced on August 22 that five suspects had been arrested, including Gilamana's father and her biological brother, Bashir. Investigators reportedly examined technical evidence and footage from more than 100 CCTV cameras while reconstructing the killing.

According to police, Gilamana's father and brother allegedly admitted during questioning to arranging the murder with help from other suspects.
Authorities also claim the family attempted to create a false narrative that blamed people outside the family for the killing.

Investigators are also looking into Gilamana's social media career as a possible motive.
Police have described the suspected motive at this stage as an alleged “honour killing”, although the investigation is still ongoing and the allegations have not been established in court.

Police further claim they uncovered an alleged earlier attempt to target Gilamana at a wedding in Haripur.
According to investigators, she avoided that attack after changing her route.

The investigation continues, with authorities saying they are still determining the roles of the individual suspects before the case is sent to court.
