A TikToker been sentenced after a family dispute ended with his millionaire uncle being struck by his Jeep.
Florida TikToker Jordan Aronson has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after killing his millionaire uncle, Scott Grebler, during a dispute at the family home in Tampa.
The incident happened on June 13, 2023, while the 24-year-old was staying at Grebler's $3 million home. The two reportedly became involved in an argument over missing money before the confrontation escalated.
TikToker Rammed Uncle Into Palm Tree
According to court records and surveillance footage, Aronson got into his Jeep Wrangler during the argument and began backing out of the driveway. Grebler was reportedly seen throwing papers and a binder toward the vehicle.
Aronson then accelerated forward and struck his uncle, reportedly ramming his body into a palm tree. Grebler suffered severe injuries to his skull and brain and was placed on a ventilator after being taken to hospital. He died from his injuries eight days later.
Aronson later told police that Grebler had tried to attack him and claimed his uncle had been acting aggressively. Grebler, who had Parkinson's disease, had accused Aronson of stealing money.
However, prosecutors argued that surveillance footage showed the argument remained verbal and that neither man had physically attacked the other before Aronson drove into Grebler.
10-Year Sentence Follows Plea Deal
Aronson initially pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder, but later accepted a plea deal that reduced the charge to manslaughter with a weapon. The agreement resulted in a 10-year prison sentence, rather than the maximum possible sentence of 30 years.
Following his prison term, Aronson will also serve five years of probation. The court ordered him to complete 50 hours of community service and an anger management course.
Before his arrest, Aronson had built a following on social media by posting baseball advice and workout content. He had more than 52,000 followers on TikTok and another 23,000 on Instagram. He had also recently completed his freshman year playing baseball at Lynn University.
Grebler was a philanthropist and co-founder of the nonprofit 13 Ugly Men. He was 59 years old when he died.
