After prison, Dwight returns to Tulsa to build his empire in the action-packed Season 4 of Tulsa King.

Sylvester Stallone’s hit Paramount+ series Tulsa King has officially been renewed for a fourth season before the third season has even premiered. The announcement, made at a Tulsa King event in New York City, guarantees fans more of the high-stakes action, drama, and dark humor surrounding New York mob boss Dwight “The General” Manfredi, who, after 25 years in prison, relocates to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to build his own criminal empire.
Terence Winter Returns As Head Writer
Developed by Yellowstone mastermind Taylor Sheridan, Tulsa King has been a standout success on Paramount+. Stallone, who also serves as executive producer, had already expressed his hope for a quick start to season four and even hinted at the possibility of a fifth season. With the latest renewal, the series now looks set to continue long-term, with the potential for up to six seasons in total.
The fourth season also brings a major behind-the-scenes shake-up. Dave Erickson, the showrunner for season three, will depart the series to focus on Sheridan’s other hit project, Mayor of Kingstown. Taking his place is Terence Winter, the creator of Boardwalk Empire and the original showrunner for season one.
Winter, who served as executive producer and head writer in season two and as a consultant in season three, now returns as head writer and executive producer for season four. Like season two, the series will proceed without a traditional showrunner – a somewhat unusual but now familiar approach for the show.
Star-Studded Cast And Exciting Spin-Offs
Season three, premiering on September 21, 2025, will see Dwight confront the Dunmire family, a wealthy and influential dynasty that threatens his growing empire. Alongside Stallone, the cast includes Neal McDonough, Frank Grillo, Garrett Hedlund, Robert Patrick, Bella Heathcote, and Kevin Pollak. Robert Patrick stars as Jeremiah Dunmire, the patriarch of the powerful family.
Adding extra excitement is Samuel L. Jackson, who guest stars as Russell Lee Washington Jr., a prison friend of Dwight sent to Tulsa with orders to kill him. Jackson’s character will later lead his own spin-off series, NOLA King, with production scheduled for early 2026. Erickson had originally been attached as showrunner for the spin-off but stepped down, and a replacement has yet to be announced.
Tulsa King Returns To Paramount+
Tulsa King blends classic mob drama with action and character-driven storytelling. After his release from prison, Dwight faces threats from old rivals while managing a new crew of unpredictable criminals. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. Executive producers include Stallone, Winter, Sheridan, Ron Burkle, David Glasser, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Jim McKay, Sheri Elwood, Ildy Modrovich, and Keith Cox.
