DC Allies has gained a lot of attention over the last few weeks. But what is it? And is it even real?

Everyone who enjoys playing online shooters has heard of Marvel Rivals. But what about Marvel's biggest competitor DC? Now, people have started discussing something called DC Allies. But what is that? And is it really a Marvel Rivals competitor?

A New Breakout Shooter Or An Elaborate Joke?

The names of the two are already very similar. It would be a great marketing strategy for DC to directly oppose their competitor, but there is one big issue: DC Allies does not actually exist. Despite a dedicated subreddit and a Discord for fans of the fictional game, it is not real. YouTuber and Twitch streamer bogur not only brought a lot of attention to it, he also explains:

"Turns out that people have made a whole [entire] Discord about the fake hero shooter from DC. [...] They're role playing that DC Allies is the game."

And one quick look into the DC Allies subreddit confirms that. It clearly states that "DC Allies is a (fictional) Super Hero Team-Based PVP Shooter".

Thousands Of Supporters For A Fake Game

The more effort is put into a joke of such sorts, the more people seem to appreciate it. The subreddit currently stands at 63K members or "Allies", as they call them. And the posts don't disappoint either: Everyone seems to be in on the joke. While some people post Marvel Rivals content and pretend it's DC Allies, others posted art of DC characters or discussed voice lines or skins that are obviously also not real.

Anybody else think "that" voice line between Harley and Ivy is a little too provocative?

But while some are in on the joke, others unfortunately got a little too excited about the new game, only to then realize it is not actually real. Though everyone seems to be aware now, some still wish DC Allies was a real game or at least a real, official concept.

But what do you think? Would you like to see a game like that in the future? Let us know in the comments!
