Since the release of Borderlands 4 on September 12, 2025, players can not only dive into the chaotic world of the new first-person shooter but also snag free in-game items. Publisher 2K Games and developer Gearbox have launched a Twitch Drops promotion, offering exclusive rewards, including a cosmetic skin for your new robot companion and two legendary weapons.

Which Twitch Drops Are Available?

The two weapons that can be unlocked via Twitch Drops are the “Forsaken Chaos” (legendary shotgun), available after 2 hours of viewing, and the “Midnight Defiance” (legendary sniper rifle), which also requires 2 hours of viewing. These are only available through partner streamers. Both drops end on September 30, 2025, giving plenty of time to claim your rewards.

To make sure the Twitch Drops actually appear in your inventory, a few simple steps need to be followed.

Borderlands 4: How To Claim Twitch Drops

First, linking your Twitch account to your SHiFT account is essential. SHiFT is Gearbox’s cross-platform service used for online features and rewards in Borderlands games. Visit the official SHiFT website, log in, or create a free account if you don’t already have one. In your account settings, navigate to the section for linked platforms (“Gaming Platforms” or “Connections”) and select Twitch.

Follow the instructions to link the accounts. Additionally, make sure your SHiFT account is connected to the platform account (PlayStation Network, Xbox Network, or Steam/Epic Games Store) on which you plan to play Borderlands 4.

After successfully linking the accounts, simply watch a livestream to unlock the Twitch Drops. Twitch will automatically indicate when drops are available: a pinned notification appears at the top of the chat for that streamer. Progress toward the drops can be tracked at any time in the Twitch menu under “Drops & Rewards.”

Once the required viewing time is reached, a notification appears on Twitch. The reward can then be claimed in your Twitch inventory and is automatically credited to your linked SHiFT account – and that’s it!
