This time, Dave finds himself venturing into the jungle – with all the dangers and treasures lurking there.
With In the Jungle, Dave the Diver is facing its biggest expansion to date. Instead of continuing to dive into the depths of the Blue Hole, the lovable diver heads into a dense jungle for the first time – bringing with it new gameplay mechanics, a fresh story, and a completely different gameplay feel.
New Setting: Jungle Instead Of The Deep Sea
At the heart of the DLC is a brand-new jungle area featuring freshwater environments that clearly set it apart from the familiar ocean setting. Dave explores rivers, lakes, and hidden bodies of water inhabited by entirely new fish species and creatures. The central hub of the expansion is the jungle village of Utara, which serves as a base for quests, interactions, and new activities.
In the Jungle offers around ten hours of new content, standing out in particular thanks to its stronger narrative focus. Players will meet new characters, build relationships with the villagers, and experience a self-contained story that integrates seamlessly into the main game.
One particularly interesting twist: while the main game follows a clearly structured day–night cycle, time in the village passes in real time. This gives exploration, quest turn-ins, and interactions with NPCs a much stronger sense of life and immersion.
Fresh Gameplay and New Perspectives
The DLC also breaks new ground in terms of gameplay. In some sections, the classic side-scrolling view is replaced by an isometric perspective, especially during exploration of the village and jungle areas. This not only adds variety but also emphasizes the expansion’s distinct identity.
In addition, Dave gains a new multifunctional tool called the “Jungle Gun,” which can be used as a net, a firearm, or a special-purpose device depending on the situation – perfect for adapting to the jungle’s dangers and unique challenges.
Culinarily, In the Jungle also takes a new direction. Instead of sushi, the focus shifts to a Bancho Grill restaurant. Since Dave mainly catches freshwater fish in the DLC, this results in new recipes and dishes that clearly differ from the familiar sushi menu and introduce fresh economic challenges.
An exact release date has not yet been announced, but the DLC is currently planned to launch in early 2026.
