This psychological thriller game blurs the lines between reality and illusion as well as between cuteness and darkness.

As announced by publisher Dangen Entertainment and Taiwanese developer Puff Hook Studio, the story-driven psychological thriller Recall: Empty Wishes will be released on February 13 for $14.99 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam.

Recall: Empty Wishes

Set in Taiwan during the 2010s, Recall: Empty Wishes is a psychological drama that follows Yonny, a sister that wants to uncover the secrets behind the disappearance of her brother, Tommy.

When Yonny finds an old toy phone she and Tommy used to play with, it turns out to connect her to a surreal realm where they can enter the memory echoes of certain individuals linked to Tommy.

While diving deeper into the truths, she is confronted with unsettling secrets that blur the line between reality and illusion.

A Thriller In Chibi Style

Recall: Empty Wishes plays with the hard contrast of its dark theme and the cute 2D art style featuring chibi styled characters. The game features:

  • Immersive adventure based on the culture of Taiwanese students in the 2010s.
  • Non-linear storytelling that combines elements of fantasy, mystery, and horror.
  • Multiple character perspectives with alternate points of view and narration.
  • Choices that affect other characters and endings.
  • 2D side-scrolling gameplay with interactive elements and puzzle-solving.
  • Pixel-art graphics combined with hand-drawn portraits of characters.
  • Multiple language support, including English, Chinese and Japanese.

Recall: Empty Wishes developed by Puff Hook and published by Dangen Entertainment will be launched for $14.99 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam on February 13.
