The football world can look forward to an unusual comeback: Netflix is bringing back the popular “FIFA” series – but in a completely new form. Instead of the usual PC and console versions, the game will be available exclusively for iOS and Android devices as part of Netflix’s expanding mobile offerings. The new edition is being developed by Delphi Interactive, a studio determined to “reinvent” the digital football experience.

FIFA 2026 Now On Netflix

The new title is closely tied to the upcoming 2026 World Cup and aims to allow fans to experience “the emotions and drama of the tournament in their purest form.” Netflix emphasizes that the game will be highly accessible: quick to learn, exciting to master, and suitable for players of all ages. It can be played solo or online against others. All that’s required is an active Netflix subscription and a smartphone – no additional costs apply.

Alain Tascan, President of Games at Netflix, describes the project as a way to bring fans’ passion straight into their living rooms: “The FIFA World Cup will be the cultural event of 2026. Now fans can celebrate their excitement digitally – with a game anyone can play at the push of a button.”

FIFA
also views the collaboration as a significant step. President Gianni Infantino calls the project “the beginning of a new era of digital football.” The goal is to reach billions of football fans worldwide and to redefine the concept of simulation games. The game will be available free of charge to Netflix members, marking a historic step for the FIFA brand.

World Cup Fever Anywhere, Anytime

Delphi Interactive is equally ambitious. Founder and CEO Casper Daugaard emphasizes that the aim is to create “the most fun, accessible, and global football game ever.” Andy Kleinman, President of Delphi, adds: “Together with FIFA and Netflix, we are developing a game worthy of the world’s most popular sport – a game anyone can play anywhere and instantly feel the magic of football.”

The exact release date has not been announced, but the game is expected to launch in time for the World Cup opening match on June 11, 2026. Netflix plans to reveal more details over the course of the next year.

With this move, FIFA is taking a new path: away from traditional platforms and toward mobile, easily accessible gaming experiences. For fans, this means not just a new game, but the chance to experience the world’s biggest football stage up close – anytime, anywhere. Netflix is becoming a new digital arena for football fans and proving that the world’s favorite game can be redefined beyond classic consoles.
