While The Sims may not seem like an obvious choice for a live-action adaptation, LuckyChap, led by Margot Robbie, has a track record of tackling unconventional projects such as Barbie and Saltburn. Director Kate Herron, known for her work on Loki, brings genre expertise to the table. This team up seems now set to bring The Sims to the big screen.

The Sims Movie: Breaking New Ground - Again

Like Barbie, The Sims lacks a traditional narrative, suggesting that the film may go down a similar route and explore the concept of Sims characters being controlled by external forces rather than focusing on day-to-day life.

From lore that dates back to the first Sims game in 2000, to well-known characters and families that we hope will be featured, to famous stars singing their songs in Simlish for the in-game radio, the possibilities are endless. We have it all, so expectations are high for the movie.

Kate Herron is set to helm the new adaptation of the popular game with co-writer Briony Redman. The movie will be produced by Margot Robbie's production company LuckyChap, along with Vertigo Entertainment's Roy Lee and Miri Yoon. Electronic Arts, the publisher of the game, will also play a major role in the development and production of the project.

There is no release date yet, but it is likely that Sims 5 will be released before the movie. Until then, we say Dag Dag and are ready for more information about this interesting new project.
