The official trailer for Game of Thrones: Kingsroad dropped, and it’s not exactly setting the internet on fire. Instead of hype, the teaser is getting slammed by fans across social media.

Your Story Begins In House Tyre

In Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, players take on the role of a character born outside of nobility, tied to the lesser-known Northern house Tyre.

After their siblings are killed, they begin a quest to rebuild their family’s legacy, all while a dark threat rises in the North.

The game takes players across familiar parts of Westeros, where they’ll face off against a variety of enemies and deadly creatures.

Before the journey begins, players choose one of three classes – Knight, Sellsword, or Assassin – each offering a different combat style.

Battles are controlled entirely by the player, with a focus on movement, timing, and defensive actions like dodging and parrying.

Fans Disappointed By Mobile Focus

One of the biggest points of criticism is the platform choice. Kingsroad will be available on iOS and Android, which left many longtime fans feeling let down. A mobile game was not what most expected from a new Game of Thrones title, especially one with a story-driven setup.

Across social media, users are expressing frustration, saying the game feels like a missed opportunity. Many were hoping for a full-scale RPG on PC or console, something more fitting for the scope and depth of the series.

Visuals Fail To Impress

Another major complaint is the game’s visuals. From character models to environments, the graphics have been widely described as underwhelming. Fans have pointed out that the animation looks dated, and the overall presentation lacks the polish expected from a 2025 release.

Mixed Reactions, Uncertain Future

It’s still too early to say how Kingsroad will perform once released, but the first impressions have been mixed at best. While some players might enjoy the mobile format and simplified gameplay, others are calling it a missed chance to bring Westeros back in a more meaningful way.
