As the Christmas season rolls around, it’s time for free games, discounts, and special offers galore!
Starting with Black Friday in late October and running through January, this is the perfect time to snag some epic deals.
The Epic Games Store’s annual Advent Calendar is back, running from December 12 to January 9.
Every day, you can grab a free mystery game, ready for you to claim and download right from the store.
Over 16 Free Games Await
Each day brings a new mystery title to discover:
- December 12 to December 19: The first mystery game (The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria).
- December 19 to January 2: A new mystery game drops every day at 5 PM (total of 14 games).
- January 2 to January 9: One final mystery game wraps up the event.
If you haven’t already, you still have until 5 PM today to claim The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, a solid deal considering it’s priced at around 15 USD on Steam.
To claim it, open the Epic Games launcher or head to their website, navigate to the Store tab, and scroll to Free Games. Click on the current free game to add it to your collection.

The real fun begins today at 5 PM, as Epic Games kicks off daily free mystery games through January 2.
Which games are on the list? That remains a holiday surprise until they’re live in the store.
Based on previous events, you might see titles like Night Project, Dark Mystery, Hitchhiker, and other exciting puzzle or adventure games in the mix.
