Imagine being able to touch the inhibitor. That has now been made possible by a Korean content creator named TERRASIA.

A Summoner’s Rift… In Just Three Months?!

TERRASIA begins the video (which you can watch with a single click here!) with a brief recap of how Riot Korea themselves approached him about a collaboration. Originally, a version measuring roughly 1 meter by 1 meter was planned. According to him, that would have been easily achievable, but during the meeting he started thinking about proportions and level of detail. Since he already has experience creating incredibly elaborate models – such as Ornn, Volibear, and Sylas – he knows what it takes to make monsters look big and powerful. In the end, they agreed on a version that is twice as large!

The Rift Awaits – Down To The Smallest Detail

He begins the modeling with a special foam mat, which he then coats with a kind of modeling compound. The ground surfaces are structured first, but even at this stage it is already clear where certain elements will be located. Stones are roughly shaped using aluminum foil and coated with additional paste, but 3D printing is also already used extensively for the map. This includes the two bases, structures such as towers, and also monsters, which will be discussed in more detail later.

Holes are cut into the ground to make room for the elaborate lighting, which will later bring Summoner’s Rift to life. Small motors also appear to be installed, as it can later be seen that the stones in the inhibitor and the nexus actually rotate.

Once the modeling is complete, the fine detailing begins. Every single detail is painted with meticulous precision. But it’s not just green paint that makes the vegetation of the map look realistic: the lanes, the jungle, and the bases are decorated with artificial grass, moss, and vines. This quickly gives everything the appearance of a bygone era – and it looks so real!

Monsters To Fall In Love With

Finally, all the monsters are meticulously painted by hand. Yes, you read that right: ALL of them. Not a single Scuttle Crab, Voidgrub, or Raptor is missing – and the minions haven’t been forgotten either. What makes this Summoner’s Rift truly special, however, is that every dragon has its place here. The level of detail at this stage is breathtaking. Each model has been refined by hand to make as many cracks, feathers, and stones as clear and defined as possible. The Red Brambleback (that’s the monster that grants you the Red Buff!) even gets its own leaves – and is absolutely smashingly cute!

The dragons clearly take up more time. The Elder Drake is illuminated from the inside with a radiant blue light, giving it a truly magical appearance. Each of Baron Nashor’s eyes is dotted individually, and the golden claws are also painted with great care.

After the final brushstrokes, the moment has arrived: the map is connected with the two bases. And the result? Summoner’s Rift couldn’t look more real! It’s truly a masterpiece – one can only tip their hat.
