Has Blizzard simply stepped up their marketing-game, or is something more behind all of this? The fact is that Blizzard's new PVP event on the Chinese Server Titan Reforged: Wrath sparks a lot of interest within the community. In addition, the German social media channels for World of Warcraft launched a call to action for artists while indirectly announcing a WoW exhibition in Germany.

The Battle For The Server Name

On the Chinese server Titan Reforged: Wrath, a massive PVP event is about to begin. The best part: the winning guild gets to name the server for an entire month. During that time, the guild name will be attached to the server name – for example, on the server Antonidas it would read: Antonidas – Guild. The event starts alongside the launch of the first raid phase of Molten Core.

To earn points, players will have to defeat members of the other faction, which grants them one point to a maximum of three points per defeated enemy. Solo-players aren't left out, of course, they will be able to earn a place within their class rankings.

During the event, players can collect those points at the famous Blackrock Mountain. The points are earned by guild members, and in the end, the total sum decides the victory.

Some non-Chinese streamers have managed to join the Chinese Server with some help. The WoW-Streamer Sodapoppin explained the rather difficult process during one of his streams while playing on Titan Reforged.

You have to have a Chinese phone, a Chinese ID, then you have to VPN yourself to China and somehow pay the $15 in mandarin currency.

The streamer also talked about some lags as well as difficulties to understand what is even going on due to the game being completely in mandarin as soon as you join the server.

To sum it up: PvP will probably receive more attention from Blizzard going forward, so an event like this fits perfectly. Whether this is also a promotional move – or whether we might see similar events on American or European servers – remains to be seen.

The House of Warcraft In Germany

As a pre-order owner of Midnight – and now an officially certified decorator – I can say: the housing feature is seriously impressive. I completely lost track of time once I started decorating my home. For many of us, this feature finally fulfilled the dream of a personal home within Azeroth.

However, Blizzard is taking things even further now. On Social Media, the studio is calling on artists to share their creations. Using the hashtag #HausOfWarcraft, German players can submit their artwork until January 12.

Based on the information so far, it appears that this is a planned exhibition in a German city – potentially featuring an actual WoW-themed house filled with art created by players.

This could very well be a clever marketing move for the upcoming expansion Midnight, meaning the exhibition might even take place before March. We will keep you updated as soon as new information comes up.

Would you like to see this kind of PvP event too? And are you just as excited about the exhibition? Share your thoughts in the comments!
