The release of Resident Evil Requiem is drawing ever closer; in just two months, fans will finally be able to dive into the next chapter of Capcom’s iconic horror series. To fuel the anticipation, Capcom has now unveiled a short but intriguing announcement teaser for the game’s upcoming showcase. Let’s take a closer look at what we can expect and when to tune in.

New Gameplay, More Leon?

While the teaser itself is brief, it offers several exciting clues. Most importantly, it confirms the showcase date: January 15 at 2:00 PM PT. A moment many fans will surely be marking on their calendars.

Despite its short runtime, the trailer reveals more than one might expect. One detail immediately stands out: the heavy focus on Leon S. Kennedy, who appears prominently throughout the teaser. When paired with recent comments from producer Masato Kumazawa, the picture becomes even clearer.

Kumazawa has already hinted that Leon will play a major role, especially during the showcase itself. There is also strong reason to believe that we’ll get our first look at how the game transitions between first-person and third-person perspectives, a feature that has sparked a lot of curiosity within the community.

And if there’s one thing we know about Capcom, it’s that they often have more up their sleeve. Based on past showcases, there’s a good chance an additional surprise announcement could be waiting for us. Naturally, we at EarlyGame will be covering all the exciting news from the showcase as soon as it goes live.
