Get ready for a ride through San Andreas like never before – one last tribute to GTA 5!

Buying that Icon Card you could never dream of affording at release during the annual transition to the next FIFA? There are many ways to make the most of the final moments of a game. Some gamers decide to honor their beloved game one last time. With the upcoming GTA 6 release, the GTA Reddit community is trying to come together to pay homage to the game after all these years. Here's everything you need to know about this project.
GTA 5 Farewell Ride
One Last Ride seems to be the motto of the planned GTA 5 tribute. With the approaching release of GTA 6, gamers from all over the world are coming together to honor the game that has been a part of their lives for so many years. To make this farewell special, they plan to take to the streets of San Andreas one last time. The idea is to complete a massive lap around the entire map, turning the journey into a final tribute to one of the most iconic open-world games ever made.
The night before GTA 6 releases. One last drive by u/Accomplished-Hat5373 in GTA
The Reddit post from Accomplished-Hat5373 has gained a lot of attention, with over 3,000 upvotes. However, it should be noted that the number of posts about this project is just as high as the upvotes. Many comments also mentioned that you can still play GTA 5 even after GTA 6 is released. Admittedly, it does kind of feel like this idea was written by a Rockstar CEO Boomer. Hey guys, how about we drive around the map one more time before we have to destroy our physical copies of the game or keep it alive by covering fixed and variable costs with enough microtransactions to keep it profitable enough? Lend me one vote up if you concur.
GTA 5: Still Going Strong
Driving around the map doesn’t actually take that long, depending on your driving style. Some claim it can be done in just 10 minutes and 20 seconds. If you have 21 minutes and 10 seconds to spare, you might as well watch a YouTube video of a POV drive around the map at a reasonable speed while nearly obeying the traffic laws. Nearly, because the overtaking maneuver at minute 19 shouldn't have been done across the solid line. Now, did I just watch a 20-minute video of someone driving around San Andreas just to catch a mistake? If that gets me a promotion, yes; if not, then no.
You also don’t have to worry about the GTA 5 servers shutting down. The Xbox 360 and PS4 servers were only shut down eight years after their release. That, plus the fact that GTA 5 has already earned Rockstar $8.6 billion, and GTA Online still has simultaneously over 400,000 players across platforms, is a clear sign that this game is far from dead.
Do you still play GTA 5, and will you take part in the honor lap? Let us know in the comments!
