Red Dead Redemption & Undead Nightmares coming to PC this month

Red Dead Redemption was released 14 years ago, and it was easily one of the best RPGs of its generation (classic Rockstar). Now, we're finally getting a remaster for PC!

Unlike the GTA games, Rockstar never actually ported the original Red Dead Redemption to PC back when it was released. You either had an 360 or a PS3, or you couldn't play. But finally, an official remaster of this legendary game is coming to PC.

And if you haven't played the first RDR, rest assured it's every bit as wonderful as the second game (in fact, I prefer it).

Red Dead Redemption on PC

The PC remaster of Red Dead Redemption will be released on October 29, 2024, complete with the Undead Nightmare DLC. That's quite a lot of game, with RDR taking about 30 hours to complete, and Undead Nightmares about 10. There's also huge scope for roaming the open-world to extend your time with the game, and Undead Nightmares comes with a fairly decent horde mode.

Remastered features

This is not just a straight port, it's a remaster, which means you'll be able to enjoy RDR with the following upgrades to match modern hardware:

  • Native 4K resolution at up to 144hz (on compatible hardware)
  • Support for Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9) monitors
  • HDR10 support
  • Full keyboard and mouse functionality
  • NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 upscaling technologies
  • NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation support
  • Adjustable draw distances and shadow quality settings

Now, be warned, Rockstar have a bad reputation for releasing remasters that promise a lot and fail to deliver, but it certainly sounds promising.

No price has been revealed yet, but we expect the game to be at least $50. You can pre-order Red Dead Redemption here.

Will you be buying Red Dead Redemption on PC later this month?
