Riot Games and Take This have launched an innovative initiative to integrate gaming and mental health care, responding swiftly to a recent viral video showcasing streamer TaylorMorgan's harassment during a Valorant stream. TaylorMorgan directly addressed Riot on X, stating,

"I need you guys to fucking do something. I am an incredibly strong person and I have been streaming for a very, very long time. But absolutely nothing prepares you for someone saying this to you."

Anna Donlon, Valorant's executive director, acknowledged the toxic culture within Valorant and the team's active exploration of solutions. She emphasized Riot's efforts in implementing behavioral penalties and prioritizing mental well-being in the gaming community.

Riot Games And Take This Join Forces For Mental Health

Just two days after TaylorMorgan's viral Tweet, Riot Games announced a partnership with Take This, an organization focused on mental health in gaming.

"We're excited to partner with Take This to launch the Accelerate Fellowship Program," Riot announced, signaling a commitment to advancing mental health in gaming. The program, overseen by therapist Sarah Hayes and clinical psychologist/game designer Kelli Dunlap, targets emerging professionals in gaming interested in mental health concepts.

"Accelerate is a dream realized," remarked Dunlap on the program's launch. Teaming up with Take This reflects Riot's dedication to meaningful change. Applications for the Accelerate program open on June 3rd.
