Stardew Valley Meets Fable Meets The Sims: A New Fantasy RPG Is On The Horizon

RPG fans, listen closely! A new game will be released in September that combines elements from Stardew Valley, Sims and Fable. Let's find out what Mirthwood is all about.

Mirthwood will launch on September 11 on Steam. It is a mix of an RPG and a Life Simulator, with cute handpainted-looking graphics and an open world to explore.

What To Expect From Mirthwood

The first thing you do is create your own character. You will then be launched into the world, trying to find resources to build and expand your base of operations.

Challenges along the way are enemies that can be vanquished with weapons. The combat is simple and intuitive, but not as boring as it could be.

Building a farm is essential in Mirthwood, since you always have limited resources. Almost everything in the terrain can be removed with the right tools. You can use your pickaxe to shatter stones, your axe to fell trees and your scythe to cut the grass.

This gives you the opportunity to customize your surroundings in nature, just as you like. The resources you gather from nature can be used to craft new gear, to optimize the same process.

You will meet other NPC's that you can interact and build relationships with. They can also give you quests, of course, that will help you progress through the game.

Mirthwood also has a story, which I won't get into now to avoid spoilers.

To put it in a nutshell, the game looks like a cozy adventure that you can enjoy your evenings with. Building your farm, adventuring and exploring in this watercolor-looking world might be just what we need to relax.

I will definitely give it a try when it's released.
