This year’s Game Awards once again brought a flood of new announcements and reveals.
As every year, many developers didn’t miss the chance to tease their newest projects. Here, we present the most important announcements from the 2025 Game Awards.
The Most Important Announcements of The Game Awards
Divinity
The mysterious statue ultimately turned out to be a teaser for the new entry in Larian Studios’ Divinity series. According to Larian, it’s set to become an even more expansive RPG than Baldur’s Gate 3.
Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic
With Fate of the Old Republic, we can look forward to a full-fledged single-player RPG. It’s not a direct successor to KOTOR, but fans can still be excited to see what this modern interpretation of the franchise will look like.
Saros
The new game from the creators of Returnal once again looks phenomenal and is expected to release on April 30, 2026.
Deadpool Comes to Marvel Rivals
The snarky anti-hero will join the Marvel Rivals roster on January 16 with the start of Season 6. At the end of the trailer, a character briefly appeared who strongly resembles Elsa Bloodstone. So it’s quite possible she’ll arrive in Season 6.5.
Diablo IV Expansion: Lord of Hatred
Blizzard has unveiled the new expansion for Diablo IV. The Paladin has been announced as a new class, and another class is set to arrive with the expansion’s release. However, which one that will be is still unknown.
007 First Light
The creators of the Hitman games have offered a new look at the announced James Bond title. Rockstar Lenny Kravitz will portray one of the main villains in the game.
Lords of the Fallen 2
Even though it ultimately had nothing to do with the statue, the second installment of the dark Souls-like series Lords of the Fallen is still on the way.
Stupid never dies
In this new action RPG, you fight your way through hordes of enemies as a zombie in order to save the human Julia. Along the way, you can transform into a kind of werewolf and even summon hordes of zombies yourself.
Nioh 3
The next entry in the brutally challenging Souls-like series will be released on January 26, 2026.
Tomb Raider: Catalyst und Legacy of Atlantis
Two new games set in the Tomb Raider universe have been announced. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a remake of the first game and is planned for release in 2026. Tomb Raider: Catalyst will continue the franchise’s story and is expected to launch in 2027.
Control Resonant
The sequel to the acclaimed 2019 game Control was announced at the Game Awards. This time, however, we won’t be playing as Jesse Faden, but as her brother Dylan. The game is expected to release in 2026.
Phantom Blade Zero
After the initial announcement in 2023, fans were eager to learn more. Now, the action RPG set in a Wuxia-inspired world finally has a release date: September 9, 2026.
Solasta 2
The turn-based RPG is built on the rules of Dungeons & Dragons 5e, but takes place in a completely original world. In addition, you do not just create a main character, you assemble an entire party of four. Early Access begins on March 12 on Steam.
Highguard
The developers of Apex Legends and Titanfall have unveiled their newest game. The free-to-play PvP raid shooter Highguard will launch on January 26, 2026.
Total War: Warhammer 40,000
You want strategic real-time battles in the Warhammer 40,000 universe? Then Total War: Warhammer 40,000 is exactly the right game for you. You can not only conquer the galaxy, but also choose a faction and customize it extensively.
And even that was far from all the announcements. For example, Capcom also revealed Pragmata, their newest game, along with Decrepit, a first-person soulslike, and Gang of Dragon, the new title from the developers of the Yakuza series. As you can see, this year’s Game Awards were packed with reveals. It definitely sets the stage for an exciting year of gaming ahead.
