Our Weekend’s Finest: Silent Hill 2 Remake

Anyone who has played the old Silent Hill games back in the day will feel the nostalgia when touching this remake for the first time... And everyone who is new to the series will experience a seriously great game.
This game is proof that the Silent Hill 2 recipe is truly timeless.
I myself have never played a Silent Hill game before, but playing the remake for the 2001 game made me long for more. The game's mood is incredible and super unique. The foggy environment looks amazing, and the mechanics were well translated to modern platforms so that it doesn't even feel like a remake at all.
The puzzles were my favorite part about the game, since they don't really feel like video game puzzles... they feel like realistic and lore-authentic scenarios that you need to figure out. They definitely are quite tricky in some parts but still doable with the right amount of brain juice... But trust me... Solving them feels incredibly rewarding and satisfying.
Silent Hill 2 is psychological horror at its finest, so I 100% recommend playing it.
Our Weekend's Finest Hidden Gem: Abiotic Factor

Abiotic Factor is a rising star in the indie community. It's a survival game with a "Half-Life-esque" story, and environments. You can play it together with up to five friends. The best way to describe it would be if Half-Life, SCP, and Minecraft had a baby.
What’s crazy is how well-designed it all is. The map loops back on itself in clever ways, so you’re constantly unlocking shortcuts and discovering new sectors. And just when you think you’ve seen it all, the game throws you into a completely new realm with its own weird logic. What makes this game stand out from most survival games out there is that the progression feels really meaningful and is tightly woven into the story and world.
Even on a solo run, it doesn’t feel empty. There are NPCs, smart environmental storytelling, and the devs clearly care; there are new updates coming on time that always bring big improvements to the game. AND NOW... After a very successful early access phase, they have finally released version 1.0. So be sure to check it out on this weekend!
And that’s it for this week!
