The Witcher 4 is one of the most anticipated upcoming projects from CD Projekt Red. In their latest earnings call, CEO Michał Nowakowski dropped some information about the next part of the series.

A New Chapter In The Witcher Universe

The Witcher 4 will be the beginning of a new trilogy and will expand the world of the previous parts of the Witcher series. But fans should not expect "The Witcher 3 in new clothing", there will be "new gameplay elements and new mechanics that you have not seen in our previous games", Nowakowski states.

When it comes to a release date, there is still no new information. But this makes a little more sense now that the developers are claiming The Witcher 4 will be "[the] most developed project. Although [it's] still in the pre-production stage, our plan is to begin production in the second half of the year".

There are currently over 400 people working on The Witcher 4, which is being developed under the code name "Polaris". We're very excited to see whether they can make a comeback after the immense disappointment of Cyberpunk.

"Canis Majoris" Revives The First Witcher Game

In addition to more news about The Witcher 4, we also got a few more details about a remake of the first Witcher game, which is also being developed right now. Codenamed "Canis Majoris", the game is still in concept stage and will be developed in Unreal Engine 5 using the tools developed for "Polaris". Witcher fans sure have a lot to look forward to.
