Mass Effect Galaxy (2009)

Did you even know that this game exists? Of course, it's one of those attempts to bring the Mass Effect franchise to iOS systems, and not precisely with the Mac operating system, but for the iPhone. But with other offenders on this list, why is Galaxy the worst of all? Well, despite the terrible gameplay, the game barely lasts 2 hours. Now that I think about it, that's the best part of the game... It allows us to escape from that torture more quickly... | © BioWare

Mass effect infiltrator — Mass Effect Infiltrator (2012)

This was the attempt to bring the game to BlackBerry (yes, the game is THAT old). Imagine a simplified version of the franchise's classic shooter combat, without any of the incredible plot and characters that BioWare's writers created for the franchise. We can't even play as Sheppard! But of course, that's something common in the lower ranks of this list... | © IronMonkey

Mass Effect Andromeda — Mass Effect: Andromeda (2917)

Andromeda is better known as the game that killed the franchise. I'm sure Mass Effect will have a revival in the future, whether as a video game or maybe as a TV series. But this unfinished disaster became famous for the funny and terrifying bugs that deformed the characters' faces. Inexcusable for being the most modern game in the franchise. Nightmare fuel, definitely. | © BioWare

Mass Effect 3

Ok, we are getting close to the original trilogy, and therefore to the good games. But why is Mass Effect 3 the worst of the original trilogy? Well, beyond the reliance on having played the previous 2 games to fully enjoy your experience, there is the problem with the ending.

They gave us 3 options, which ended with a practically identical cinematic, differing only in color variations. The ending was so terrible that they had to release a DLC to fix it. But beyond that, it brought us the conclusion of a saga that we hold dear to our hearts, and there is at least some merit in that... even if it was the first sign of internal problems. | © BioWare

Mass Effect 2

Personally, Mass Effect 2 is my favorite in the franchise, but I'm trying to be objective. Why? Because it's a game that knocks you off your feet. You're still Sheppard, but now you're on the side of your former enemies. And not only that, but you have a bunch of side missions that, depending on how you complete them (and if you complete them), the final mission will have you in tears over the death of some of your crew members. And if you are speedrunning this game, you could even have a really tragic playthrough... | © BioWare

Mass Effect 1

And in the end, you can't surpass the first, the greatest, the most wonderful of them all: Mass Effect 1. No, we're not being snobs who prefer the classics, since each subsequent installment was a little worse. Even though Mass Effect 2 gives it a run for its money, nothing compares to the first introduction to this world and to characters like Garrus, Tali, or Liara. Sorry, Miranda, but no one measures up to this magnificent trio of characters. So much so that they had to appear in the next games, and it's very easy to choose them over new squad members.

In the end, BioWare's strength lies in their stories, decisions to be made, and characters, and no other title in this franchise is as solid in this aspect as Mass Effect 1. | © BioWare
