YouTube & Kick Shut Down No Sleep Stream After Over 250 Hours

Norme was attempting a new record: 265 hours without sleep. But it became too dangerous to be allowed to continue on mainstream platforms, and had to be finished via Rumble.

After being awake for over 10 days, YouTube and Kick decided to shut down Normes livestream. But he did break his record, finishing the attempt on Rumble.

YouTube Steps In

Norm's "no sleep" stream got a lot of attention thanks to top streamers like Steak and Ludwig, who followed his attempt. But it quickly became apparent that this was not a smart idea, and many viewers became concerned for Norm's mental health, begging him to stop.

After 250 hours, YouTube shut down his livestream for violating community guidelines. And to dissuade others from trying attempts like this again, they deleted all of his VoDs covering the attempt.

Even Kick, which is known as the wild west of streaming, decided to ban him in less than an hour when he tried to continue there.

Norme Finishes On Rumble, But Not Before "Swatting"

After losing his access to YouTube or Kick, he decided to stream on Rumble, where he completed his record. However, there were a few interruptions. Just as the event was wrapping up, the police arrived, and emergency services were called to check on his wellbeing.

Norme officially ended his Rumble stream after being awake for 264 hours and 56 minutes. The Guinness world record still belongs to Robert McDonald, who stayed awake for 453 hours and 40 minutes. Norme is claiming that he is the real record holder, because he didn't use caffeine or other drugs to push his body to the limit like the record holder.

Guinness hasn't monitored the record for the longest time awake since 1997 because it's dangerous for the human body.
