Olivia Henderson – better known as the DoorDash girl – publicly accused a customer of alleged sexual harassment by posting images and videos of the supposed incident online. However, this is exactly what ultimately backfired on her and could even land her in prison.

DoorDash Girl And The TikTok Video

The case of Olivia Henderson took place in October 2025 in Oswego, in the U.S. state of New York, and became widely known primarily through a viral TikTok video. Henderson, who was 23 at the time, worked as a driver for DoorDash and was delivering food to a customer.

When she arrived, she found the man lying on his couch inside his house. She was actually supposed to leave the delivery at the front door as agreed, but when she noticed that the door could be easily pushed open, she entered the interior. There, the customer was lying drunk and asleep on his couch, his pants unbuttoned and pulled down.

Henderson filmed the situation with her phone and later posted the video on TikTok, where it spread to millions. She publicly portrayed the incident as if she had been the victim of sexual harassment or even sexual assault.

She then reported the incident to the police and filed corresponding accusations against the customer. However, the investigation revealed a different picture: according to police, the man was heavily intoxicated and had passed out on his couch. There was no evidence that he had intentionally tried to provoke or harass Henderson.

Reactions To Unfounded Accusations

Instead, Henderson herself came under scrutiny from authorities, her employer, and TikTok. The accusation: she had filmed a person inside their private residence without consent and then distributed the material online. Under U.S. law, this constitutes a violation of privacy. She was therefore charged with “unlawful surveillance” and the dissemination of such recordings – offenses that can, in the worst case, be punished with several years in prison

DoorDash also responded by suspending her account, as publishing recordings from a customer’s home clearly violates company policy

After TikTok reacted shortly after the upload and removed the videos, Henderson criticized the alleged injustice in an emotionally charged video, complaining that the world belongs to men and insisting that she was the real victim.

Prison Sentence For Revenge Porn?

Following the recent criminal classification of the case, it is clear that Henderson will soon have to stand trial and face a verdict – though the internet remains uncertain about the outcome.

For many critics and observers, however, it seems unlikely that Henderson will face a severe sentence. This impression appears to be influenced by other cases in which TikTok users received surprisingly lenient punishments, such as Wolfie Kahletti, who was given probation after poisoning food in a supermarket.

Other voices, including legal advisors and attorney Andrew Asquire, point to New York Civil Rights Law 52-B, commonly known as the “revenge porn" law.

This law is primarily intended to protect victims of such content, in which – predominantly men – publish explicit images of women online to take revenge. However, the law does not only apply to cases arising from romantic relationships or similar connections, but more broadly to the secret recording of unclothed bodies and the distribution of such material.

Against this backdrop, Henderson could face a fine of up to $500,000 or even a prison sentence of up to 8 years – though as a first-time offender, it is likely that the sentence will be significantly lower.

A Disservice To Real Victims

A major issue with Henderson’s unfounded allegations is the disservice they do to actual victims of sexual harassment. At a time when women already face significant challenges in reporting such offenses, being heard, or even being believed, individual cases like that of the DoorDash girl are repeatedly used by certain movements and ideologies to undermine the credibility of other accusations.

It should be clear that there may indeed be cases in which women are the perpetrators. However, it should also remain undisputed that, in the vast majority of cases, victims should be believed.
