The accident reportedly happened inside her home kitchen. Her fridge suddenly tipped over as she tried to push it back into place.

Laura said she could barely breathe and feared for her life. She stated: “I’m just there, pinned under a fridge, thinking this is the dumbest way anyone has ever died.”
Her two children were reportedly nearby during the incident, but obviously couldn’t help. Somehow, she managed to reach her phone before losing consciousness and call emergency services while trapped.

According to Clery, it needed three firefighters to lift the appliance and rescue her. After the rescuers managed to free her, she was taken to the hospital immediately.
