Despite the expected pricing debate, the champion selection is strong.
Rasmus “Caps” Winther has already been confirmed as the first Western player in Riot’s Hall of Legends. Now Riot has also revealed the skins that will celebrate his career in-game. With Risen Legend Orianna, Risen Legend Tristana and Immortalized Legend Tristana, Caps is not just getting cosmetics but a small summary of his identity as a player: control, creativity and chaos.
Orianna and Tristana Fit Better Than It May Seem
At first glance, many fans probably expected other champions. Ryze, Sylas, LeBlanc or Akali are closely connected to Caps, and his mid lane history alone offers more than enough iconic picks. Still, the combination of Orianna and Tristana is actually quite fitting.
Orianna represents the classic mid lane side of Caps. She is a champion who controls teamfights, rewards patience, and, in the right hands, can decide games through positioning and one perfect ultimate. That side of Caps is sometimes underrated because many people mainly associate him with wild plays and “Claps” moments. But his career was never only about risk. Caps was so good for years because he could combine classic mid lane fundamentals with unusual creativity.
Tristana, on the other hand, represents the other side: tempo, flexibility, and Caps’ willingness to think about picks differently from everyone else. Tristana mid is not a champion that sounds like calm control. She stands for pressure, all-ins, tower plates, aggressive jumps and games that suddenly completely explode. That fits Caps, and especially his G2 era, perfectly.
That Tristana gets the bigger Hall of Legends focus is therefore understandable. Caps was never Europe’s best mid laner only because he played the standard picks better. He was special because he made Western teams believe that they could challenge the best in the world with courage, tempo and unusual ideas.

The Skins Are Full of Caps References
Riot has built several direct references to Caps and his career into the skins. These include references to “Claps,” his name above destroyed towers and an emote where Orianna holds the LEC trophy. These details matter because Hall of Legends skins need to be more than just pretty prestige cosmetics.
With Faker, it was about the mythology of the Unkillable Demon King. With Uzi, it was about mechanical bot lane dominance and a career that shaped an entire type of player despite never winning Worlds. With Caps, it has to be about something else: hope for the West, creativity, confidence and the ability to make even the biggest opponents look vulnerable for a moment.
That is why the “Claps” reference is almost unavoidable. Caps’ legacy is so strong partly because his career always sat somewhere between genius and risk. When it worked, Europe suddenly looked world-class. When it failed, Claps became Craps. That tension is part of his story.
The Release Comes With Patch 26.18
The Hall of Legends skins will release with Patch 26.18 on September 10. The event pass costs 1,950 RP and includes Risen Legend Orianna with border and chroma, as well as additional skins, Mythic Essence, orbs, icons, emotes and Caps-related cosmetics.
Players who also want Tristana will need the Risen Legend Tristana Collection, which costs 5,035 RP and already includes the Hall of Legends pass. Above that is the Immortalized Legend Tristana Collection for 32,035 RP. This version includes the major premium variant of the Tristana skin with three forms, custom voice lines and effects that change throughout the game.
The most expensive option is the Signature Collection for 58,865 RP. It includes Signature Moves for Tristana and Orianna, special splash arts, borders, chromas, the “Claps” title, all 100 pass levels and additional finishers. With that, Riot continues the pricing structure that already sparked discussion during previous Hall of Legends events.
The Pricing Debate Will Be Part of It Again
As much as Caps’ induction is being celebrated, monetization will once again be part of the discussion. 58,865 RP is a price range far beyond what many players would ever spend on a skin or event bundle. The fact that a European fan favorite is now part of this premium structure will likely make the debate even more emotional.
At the same time, the situation is a little more nuanced. Players who only want the event pass and Orianna get a relatively normal event offer for 1,950 RP. The extreme pricing debate mainly concerns the Immortalized and Signature versions of Tristana. Riot is therefore clearly separating “I want to participate in the event” from “I want the full premium package.”
Still, that will not convince everyone. The Hall of Legends is supposed to celebrate legends, but with prices like these, it also feels like a test of how far Riot can go with collector cosmetics. With a player like Caps, whose legacy is so strongly tied to fans, hope and Western esports belief, that tension becomes especially visible.
A Fitting Monument for Europe’s Greatest Player
Orianna and Tristana show two sides of Caps that together explain his career. One champion stands for control, teamfight mastery and classic mid lane excellence. The other stands for courage, flexibility and the chaos that so often made Caps Europe’s most dangerous player.
Caps was never the player with the most international titles. But he was the player who made the West dream most convincingly for years. If his Hall of Legends skins capture exactly that feeling, then they do their job.
In the end, that may be the most important point: these skins do not only celebrate one player. They celebrate the rare moments when Europe truly believed it could beat the best teams in the world. And hardly anyone represents that hope more than Caps.
