20th Century Studios announced that for the newest installment of the Alien franchise, they will also release it on VHS.

Alien: Romulus follows a group of young colony workers examining a spaceship wreck, finding the aftermath of a deadly alien encounter. Now, said wreck is heading towards your home – with almost ancient technology.
Alongside the DVD and Blu-ray release on December 3, they will also release a number of VHS copies as well for collectors:

20th Century’s decision to release it on such ancient media is a fun twist for fans of the franchise and physical media.
With the rise of streaming and cloud services, there has been a lot of discussion about the death of physical media in recent years. So a backlash against that is to be expected, but even so, a VHS release is more than surprising.
Describing it as "an ultimate movie collector’s dream" the VHS-edition will be a fully functional tape, created in celebration of the franchise’s 45th anniversary.
More details about this very special edition, including the number of copies and price, haven't been released yet. But of course, the VHS won't get everything the Blu-ray and DVD versions are set to get, including featurettes with Fede Alvarez and Ridley Scott, behind the scenes content, and extended scenes.
What do you think about the death of physical media in general and the VHS release of Alien: Romulus? Would you like to see more of this kind of nostalgia?
