Netflix just dropped the first trailer for their upcoming anime The Witcher: Sirens of The Deep. Here is everything we know so far.
Netflix are making an anime based on The Witcher. We already have a first trailer, a release date, and a few cast and plot detials.
The Witcher Anime: Release Date
In the first trailer, Netflix announced that Sirens of the Deep will be two hours and ten minutes long, and will be released on February 11, 2025:
The trailer shows a conversation between Geralt and Dandelion. But the topic of the conversation, a woman named Essi, is another hint to the source material "A Little Sacrifice".
The Witcher Anime: Cast
As revealed in the trailer, Doug Cockle, who was the voice of Geralt of Riva in the games, will be back as Geralt. And Joey Batey, who played Dandelion, in the Netflix live-action series, will return to voice him in the anime.
We don't yet know of any other cast members.
The Witcher Anime: Plot
As the name of the anime suggests, our beloved monster hunter will be heading out to sea. And as executive producer Tomek Baginski already teased, the plot will be based on a story from the novels.
To be specific, we are almost certain that this anime will be based on "A Little Sacrifice", a short story from the Sword of Destiny novel.
In this short story, Geralt has to find the creature behind a maritime massacre; a beast who killed the entire crew of a sailing ship. When he starts his hunt, he can't even find the boat, but eventually he ends up in the sunken city of Ys.
Our favorite Witcher finds himself torn between the misunderstood fish-people of Ys, and the understandably fearful men on the shore.
