James Gunn Busy Masterminding The DCU
In an interview with Variety, John Cena explained the long waiting for the new season. Basically, blame James Gunn, the director of the season.
Well, Not James Gunn himself, more his role in the DC Studios. Along with Peter Safran, he is in charge of planning the new DC Universe (DCU), which means building the vision and path for the next phase of superhero movies and series that the DCU will release.
His calendar was just too full of dates for season 2, but John Cena gave us hope.
And it seems like forever ago, now that we’re filming every day, it seems like it will be just right around the corner that we’re watching Season 2.”
In April 2024, James Gunn posted a picture on threads of a pre-shooting for season 2. Looks like we are now finally in the shooting phase.
Our guess is that Season 2 will be released in late 2025.
