Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone Season 5 is supposed to arrive with update 1.24 on Wednesday, August 5, but some will be able to download it earlier by the look of it.
The Call of Duty community is eagerly awaiting Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5. We already have a sneak preview of the new weapons and a new Shadow Company Operator for Modern Warfare. That's not really news, though, is it? We get that each season.
What's really interesting is what will happen in Warzone. A number of teasers, many explosion-related, are mudding the waters already. Presumably this explosion will "simply" make the Verdansk stadium accessible, but there's still a possibility of a much grander boomage that could alter a lot more on the Warzone map.
Get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/Warzone Season 5 in Advance
Some players have reported that they can download Patch 1.24. The update that should introduce Modern Warfare/Warzone Season 5 is going to stick to the size standards set by its predecessors as it stands at a hefty 36 GB.

Call of Duty players have complained for months about the size of the updates. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is now one of the largest games ever with almost 200 GB of space needed for all of the content. This early download is available only to PlayStation 4 users, so if you own one, you should check if the download is available at this early date. Brace yourself for a slow and tedious download, in fact, by the time it's all done the rest of the platforms might get the update too.
There's no information on the status of the PC and Xbox updates, but if Season 5 is ready for download on the PS4 then we sincerely doubt that it's going to arrive as planned on Wednesday. Our bet is everyone will have the opportunity to download the Season 5 update by this time tomorrow at the latest.
