PSG.LGD are making a change to their roster for the upcoming ESL One Los Angeles Major/StarLadder Season 3 Minor qualifiers.

A player swap

The Chinese powerhouse LGD is moving things around between some of its teams. Wang "Ame" Chunyu from PSG.LGD will switch places with Lai "Ahjit" Jay Son from CDEC. News of the change came today through the team's official Weibo page. Technically, both teams are part of LGD so it's more of an inside restructure than an actual trade with another organization.

CDEC was created back in 2014 by LGD as their youth talent team and Ame was actually promoted from there to LGD in 2016. After four years, with what was arguably one of the top Chinese teams we've seen, Ame is set to return back to CDEC. The carry player was an essential part of the team and had a huge impact on their performance during the last few Internationals.

What happened to PSG.LGD?

PSG.LGD participated in the last three editions of The International and they always showed solid results. Finishing 4th in 2017, 2nd in 2018 and 3rd in 2019 the Chinese team was a force to be reckoned with.

In complete contrast to that their start in the new 2019-2020 season was rather rough. Initially taking a break from the Chengdu Major, LGD failed to qualify for DreamLeague Season 13 as they were eliminated in the open qualifiers. With two Major events already missed, it will be crucial for the team to qualify for the event in Los Angeles or the next best stop – Kiev. PSG.LGD's current roster is as follows:

  • Lai “Ahjit” Jay Son
  • Lu “Maybe” Yao
  • Yang “Chalice”‘ Sheny
  • Xu “fy” Linsen
  • Jian Wei “xNova” Yap

While the team's international presence was severely hindered, they still remain the top performers on a regional level. The China Dota 2 Professional League Season 1 has all the big Chinese teams gathered and LGD are standing at the top, tied with Vici Gaming for the first spot.
