With G2’s star AD Carry Perkz back, the vacillating Origen should have been easy prey - but the spring champions got more than they bargained for.

With both teams coming off a defeat before the break, this was a chance for them to enter the second half of the season off a win - though with the return of Luka "Perkz" Perković, G2 were seen as the clear favorites. Interestingly, there was a change in the Origen roster as well as they brought in former Team Vitality player Jakub "Jactroll" Skurzyński as their starting support. The spring champions focused their early efforts top, where a first blood 6 minutes in set Barney "Alphari" Morris’ Malphite behind in a punishing lane against Martin "Wunder" Hansen’s Kennen. However, Origen would eventually equalize the gold and 12 minutes in returned fire in the top lane with two kills. As the mid-game started, OG kept finding kills as G2 looked oddly uncoordinated. While the Kog’Maw in the mid lane provided some late-game insurance, Origen’s easy engage gave them a quick way to reach the enemy backline. Some 30 minutes into hte game, a kill on Kog’Maw resulted in an uncontested Baron for Origen. With the buff, they sieged the enemy base. G2 found no counterplay as they were slowly pushed in and after a long skirmish in their base they had to watch their Nexus go down. With this win, Origen have equalized G2’s record at 5:5 in a five-way tie with Misfits, Fnatic and SK Gaming and interestingly hold the head-to-head advantage against the spring champion.
