Blue Eye Samurai Creator's Plans For Season 2

Back in 2023, Director Jane Wu sat down with Variety and shared some insights about the first season, but also about how the story might continue. Back when the interview took place, season 2 hasn't been confirmed yet, and still Wu came across as pretty optimistic – did she already know back then, I wonder?
And, let's be honest: the end of season 1 perfectly set up a continuation. There is a whole other country to explore as Mizu sets sail for London and her life goal of vengeance hasn't been achieved just yet. To top it all off, London might be the place where she finally finds out who her father is. In short: season 2 has more than enough threads to follow.
Now, the creators talked about what to expect. Mizu's journey will still be pretty much the same. The wife-and-husband creator-team Amber Noizumi and Michael Green go into detail.
Revenge is her religion. She believes that at least two of the men she is out to kill are gonna be somewhere in this magical place called London.
One of the craziest reveals out of nowhere was creator Amber Noizumi casually dropping that some people might not be as dead as we thought.
There are also gonna be maybe some people you thought died who maybe are still alive.

Wu seems to be dedicated to enhance the action of season 2 even further, as she talks about the need of good stunt people.
Part of second season is about refining a live-action philosophy: You have to get stunt people that know what they're doing.
Wu is of the opinion that "this is a story that needs to be told and animation happens to be a really good medium to tell it". I whole-heartedly agree with that, as the new footage shows us again how fluidity, brutality and beauty are contrasted amazingly on the canvas that is animation.
How Mizu's journey will continue is something we can officially anticipate now. We'll keep you updated on Blue Eye Samurai season 2, so make sure to come visit from time to time!
