Amazon Prime Video has already confirmed that Gen V will return for season 2, and we've got everything you need to know about that, including the release date and any other news you could possibly need.

There is not only the fourth season of The Boys to enjoy on Prime Video (and a fifth in the making), the spin-off show Gen V has also captured many fans' attention. The show isn’t just a placeholder while waiting for Homelander and co. to return – Gen V has proven it can stand on its own, and now Amazon is doubling down with more wild Supe chaos at Godolkin University.
What is Gen V? Gen V is an exciting superhero spin-off of The Boys. Set in the same gritty universe, it explores the lives of new Supes with unique powers and mental health issues. Delve into a darker side of heroism as Gen V unfolds thrilling stories of corruption and redemption.
Just like The Boys, Gen V has been poking fun at overused superhero tropes with its own twisted spin – and season 2 promises to push that even further. Before we get to the new cast additions and crossover details, though, we need to address a tragic change.
Gen V Season 2: How The Show Continues Without Andre Anderson
The role of Andre Anderson will not be recast following the tragic death of actor Chance Perdomo, who passed away at just 27 in a motorcycle accident on March 29, 2024. Filming had originally been scheduled to begin on April 8, but production was delayed by about a month to give the team time to grieve and adjust.
According to the producers, the scripts have been rewritten to reflect his absence, and Perdomo’s legacy will be honored in season 2. How the story will handle Andre’s fate exactly hasn’t yet been revealed.
The rest of the cast is set to return, including Jaz Sinclair, Lizzie Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Asa Germann and Shelley Conn – plus a new face: Hamish Linklater joins as Dean Cipher, the new head of Godolkin University, stepping in after Indira Shetty. While his full abilities remain a mystery, Cipher is said to be highly charismatic and will play a major role in season 2.
Gen V Season 2: Release Date & Connection To The Boys
Amazon has confirmed that Gen V season 2 will premiere on September 17, 2025 on Prime Video. At San Diego Comic-Con, showrunner Michele Fazekas revealed that the new season directly picks up after the events of The Boys season 4. That means the Godolkin students will now be living in a United States dominated by Homelander, with resistance movements forming in the background.
Given this close timeline, it’s very likely that the fifth and final season of The Boys will also feed directly into Gen V’s storylines – but don’t expect those episodes before 2026.
Gen V Renewed For Season 2 Before Its Finale

Amazon struck gold with its twisted take on superhero stories, and Gen V has quickly become more than just a spin-off. With its mix of dark humor, gory spectacle and sharp commentary, it carries the same spirit as The Boys while carving out its own identity. Season 1 already proved the formula works, and with season 2 now officially on the way – tightly woven into The Boys’ larger storyline – it looks like the universe is only getting bloodier, weirder and better connected.
