The Top 5 Games We Need Netflix To Adapt

1-5

Some of these may already be in the works...

The Top 5 Games We Need Netflix To Adapt Bioshock

5. BioShock

Fortunately, a BioShock film has already been considered. In fact, more than just considered... There's already a finished script, which Netflix is said to be happy with, but unfortunately casting hasn't even started yet. So there's no telling when the film will become reality, but at least the whole thing is a bit more concrete than the following games. | © 2K Games

The Top 5 Games We Need Netflix To Adapt Medi Evil

4. MediEvil

This franchise will be unknown to our younger readers, but in the early 2000s, MediEvil made a name for itself as one of the most charming and wacky RPGs available. The TV series would need to capture that same sweet art style and the amiability of Sir Daniel Fortesque (pictured above). But besides being merely cute, there was a Lovecraftian bizarreness to the game's aesthetic, and this produced some of the most memorable - and at time's terrifying - characters one could hope for. | © Sony

The Top 5 Games We Need Netflix To Adapt la noire

3. L.A. Noire

This was truly a game unto itself. It was bold and original, and while some may have found the pace too slow for a video game, as a narrative it was almost universally applauded. The world already has film noir, you might be saying, and you'd be right, but we're not suggesting L.A. Noire because the setting and premise are so original, but rather because the story within that existing genre is so well written. | © Rockstar

The Top 5 Games We Need Netflix To Adapt AC Blackflag

2. Assassins Creed Black Flag

Perhaps the best Assassin's Creed game of all time. Moreover, it's one of the AC games most capable of standing on its own two feet, without constant references to Pieces of Eden and the brotherhood. The setting would be stunning (just envision establishing shots over the Caribbean), pirates are a familiar concept, and the assassin angle would lead us to explore some of the vibrant cities of that era on thrilling adventures. | © Ubisoft

The Top 5 Games We Need Netflix To Adapt Red Dead

1. Red Dead Redemption

Okay, this one was predictable. I know, I know; "how could you choose Rockstar again?", well, because they have the best writers in the industry. It's as simple as that. The story of both Red Dead 1 and 2 are incredible. They draw you into the personal lives of the characters while tying everything to this evocative image of the death of the cowboy, and the end of the Wild West. If you've played the first game through, then I need only remind you of the terrifyingly affecting moment when John tells his son to "take Uncle, and go!", before giving his life for his young family. It's a matter of when and not if with Red Dead's Netflix adaption. | © Rockstar

1-5

Netflix has been adapting a ton of video games into TV shows and films recently, and we're very chuffed about that. But there's still a ton more that they need to get to, and we think that of all the possibilities, these five are the games they need to adapt first.

Have you ever been playing a game so cinematically engaging that you want to put down your controller and just watch? Few games can achieve this, and fewer still can create an emotionally evocative experience, above and beyond mere spectacle. But we think the following games can. And that's why we need Netflix to sign them up for the big screen.
