Over the weekend the OG Dota 2 roster had some big changes. Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan left the squad while Sébastien "Ceb" Debs returned to an active role.

OG - multiple Major tournament winners, two-time champions of The International, and currently still trying to find the right synergy. The successful Dota 2 organization lost three players with the start of the 2019-2020 season and has been trying to recover ever since.

Jesse "JerAx" Vainikka retired and will no longer play Dota 2 while Sébastien "Ceb" Debs and Anathan "ana" Pham turned inactive. This made OG look for replacements and they quickly found some of the best players in the scene. Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan was the first to join, followed by Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng and Martin "Saksa" Sazdov. On July 25, SumaiL’s journey with the team came to an end as the organization announced Ceb will be returning to active duty.

OG made an official announcement about Ceb on their website. There the French player shares:

I actually missed them a lot. We’ve been through everything together. Every game they play in which I’m not playing felt like a waste of my time. I enjoy playing with them more than anything else

Not a whole lot is known about SumaiL and why exactly he was removed from the team. The only thing we find in the statement is as follows:

Sumail is one of the best players in the world, as well as a fantastic person to work with. We would like to thank him for his time spent with us and wish him the best.

SumaiL himself hasn’t made a post about his departure too, but we’re sure some information will eventually come out. It’s just a matter of time. OG were definitely not at their worst in the past few months, but their performance has been inconsistent at best. The team hasn’t managed to win a single event with its new roster as their best placements were 2nd at ESL One LA 2020 Online: Europe/CIS and 2nd at BLAST Bounty Hunt.Ceb is back on the team and he’s returning to his position in the offlane. In the meantime, MidOne has switched his position yet again. From now on expect some plays from him as Zheng will be carrying OG. The full team with all members in order of their positions is as follows:

  1. Yeik "MidOne" Nai Zheng
  2. Topias Miikka "Topson" Taavitsainen
  3. Sébastien "Ceb" Debs
  4. Martin "Saksa" Sazdov
  5. Johan "N0tail" Sundstein

The team’s first test will come with the OGA Dota PIT Europe/CIS which kicked off today. Do you think OG will be able to take the trophy? After all, Team Secret won’t be present at the event.
