The EMEA Challengers Playoffs Semifinals are over! Let's see how the top EU region teams are doing.

These were two exciting matches. Acend and SuperMassiveBlaze won their semifinal games and thus qualified for the next stage, so they are the ones we will be watching in Berlin. But this is not the end of the EMEA Challengers Playoffs! There are still 6 matches to go, and there are still two slots left for the Masters tournament. Two of the tournament favorites (Team Liquid and Gambit Esports) are already in the Lower Bracket, and we can be sure that one of them will not go to Berlin.

Acend vs. Gambit Esports — 2:1

It was clear from the start that this was not going to be a one-sided match; both teams have been in top shape since Challengers 1. It started with Bind, where the first half ended in a tie (6-6). However, after the side-change, Gambit managed to win only one round, and in the end, Acend won the first series of this BO3.

The following map was Ascent, where the first half ended with Acend holding a minimal edge (7-5). In the second half, however, Gambit slowly started to regain the advantage, and eventually, the match ended with a score of 13:10 in their favor.

The match was to be decided on Icebox, and here, unfortunately, Gambit had no chance. The map ended with a score of 13:5 for Acend, and the MVP of the match was cNed, who scored 25 frags on the last map. Check out the post-match interview with zeek:

SuperMassiveBlaze vs. G2 Esports — 2:0

Unlike the previous semifinal, it wasn't even close here. SuperMassiveBlaze trounced G2 Esports with a combined score of 26-9 (13:4 and 13:5). The maps on which this match took place were Bind and Ascent. The last map was supposed to be Haven, but there was no need for that — it was pure destruction.

The absolute MVP of this match was Turko, for whom this is the first major tournament under the SuperMassiveBlaze banner. This was Valorant esports at its finest; oh, and there was also some light trash talk.

Upcoming EMEA Challengers Playoffs Matches

As we mentioned earlier, this is not the end of the EMEA Challengers Playoffs! We still have five more days of competing for the remaining slots at Maters: Berlin. Who's going to get them? It's going to be a tough battle, so make sure you stay tuned! Here is the VCT schedule:
