Ex-CS:GO pro player and current streamer Shroud revealed that he'll be making his own Valorant team for the Stage 3 Challengers 2 open qualifiers. Here are all the details!

Shroud is one of the biggest streamers on Twitch, currently placing third, right after Ninja and Tfue. Before becoming a full-time streamer, Shroud was competing professionally in CS:GO. He last played for Cloud9, and he remained with the org as a streamer, even after retiring back in 2017. Over the past year, Shroud has played a variety of games on his stream, but his fascination with Valorant remained. In a recent stream, he shared some of his plans for competitive Valorant.

Shroud Is Making a Valorant Team

Shroud's fans have been asking him to return to competitive CS:GO, but it seems like the streamer has other plans, and they include Valorant. The former pro mentioned that he's trying to get a team up and running "just for fun" in one of the upcoming Valorant Champions Tour open qualifiers.

While Shroud himself said that "messing around doesn't count as a team", it sure sounds like one – even if it's just for fun. Stage 3 of the Valorant Champions Tour resumed last week with numerous open and closed qualifiers. It's safe to say that Shroud missed that train, but maybe we'll see him in the next one? The open qualifiers that Shroud is talking about in the clip will take place July 22-25. If Shroud and his team manage to survive, they'll earn a spot at Stage 3 Challengers 2 NA and compete with the best in the region.

The latest Valorant agent, KAY/O, won't be enabled until the Challengers 2 qualifiers and Shroud really wants to play him.

I’ll go run around as KAY/O and silence things.

Which Players Will Be in Shroud’s Valorant Team?

During his stream, Shroud mentioned a couple of names for his potential Valorant team. Among them were:

  • sgares
  • n0thing
  • Tarik

Whether the trio will truly join Shroud in his efforts remains to be seen. Sgares is currently a Valorant streamer for Gen.G Esports, n0thing isn't currently signed by an org and Tarik is still playing CS:GO. The latter is inactive within the EG CS:GO roster, so there's still a chance.

In any case, Shroud can always find other high-rank players to fill his ranks. If the streamer finds success, we might even see more of him in the near future. What do you think? Will Shroud's potential squad stand a chance in the next open qualifiers? Tell us on Facebook or Twitter!
