Classic Weapon Guide

We've already gone through the Sheriff, Ghost, Frenzy, and Shorty. Each of these pistols is better than the Classic in some areas, but lack in others. This makes the Classic the most well-rounded choice among the pistols. Let's take a look at the stats of the Classic:

  • Classic Fire rate: 6.75 rounds/sec
  • Classic Magazine capacity: 12 rounds
  • Classic Wall Penetration: Low
  • Classic Reload Speed: 1.75 seconds

The Classic has a decent fire rate for a free pistol, the magazine is neither big nor small and the reload speed is average.

Classic Damage

The Classic isn't exactly a weapon that'll allow you to one-tap enemies. In fact, you'll often need a couple of headshots, depending on the distance and whether the enemy has armor. Here's a quick look at the damage of the Classic:

  • 0m-30m: Body 26/Head 78/Leg 22
  • 30m-50m: Body 22/Head 66/Leg 18

It's a well-rounded pistol that doesn't have amazing headshot damage or an insane fire rate. Instead, you'll have to play it slow and steady, unless you're using the alternate fire mode.

Classic Alternate Fire

Unlike many of the other pistols, the Classic actually has an alternative fire mode. Using right-click will turn the Classic into an improvised shotgun that spreads 3 bullets with a reduced fire rate at once. The spread isn't too bad either, and that makes the Classic an incredibly versatile sidearm that's viable at any distance. The Shorty and Frenzy are usually good at close range, while Ghost and Sheriff are preferred at medium to long. In the meantime, the free pistol is a great choice no matter the distance.

TheClassic's wall penetration is laughable, and it'd be best if you just forget it has any. Just focus on aiming for the head instead.

In terms of accuracy, the Classic is just as good if not better than the Ghost, which is not something you'd expect from a weapon you get for free.

Classic Price

Ah yes, the price. It's where the Classic outclasses every other weapon in the game, because it's free. For a free weapon, the Classic is actually a very decent sidearm. If you want to go for a true eco round, there's no better choice than the default pistol.

Conclusion

Much like the Ghost, the Classic is a well-rounded pistol with the added benefit of an alternative fire mode. This truly makes the Classic a jack of all trades, as it's good at any distance and for any playstyle. The best part about the weapon is that it's absolutely free, and you'll have access to it every round. You can't say that for any other weapon in Valorant, except the knife.
