Due to the global coronavirus pandemic, most of the events in the gaming and esports industry were canceled or postponed. The Ukrainian esports organizers WePlay! answered accordingly with the online tournament WeSave! Charity Play set to donate resources for the fight against the disease.

WePlay! put up some goals for the community related to the amount of money raised. Starting with a base of $120 000, the final goal is $200,000. Along the way, various milestones will change significant parts of the event. Since the pool is currently standing at $186,000, there’s still a bit more to go until the $200,000 mark which will unlock WePlay! Premium for everyone who donated for 3 months. Previous milestones included:

  • $150,000 – EU vs CIS final
  • $160,000 – 3v3 NA All-Star match
  • $180,000 – Finals format becomes Bo5 instead of Bo3

WeSave! gathered some of the best teams from each region and the winners in four of them are already clear.

North AmericaEvil Geniuses were the favorite to take the title of champions for the region and they didn’t let their fans down this time. Going up against the freshly formed CR4ZY, the blue team took a confident victory with a 3:1 score in the grand finals.

Southeast Asia

SEA presented some surprises as the winners of the Chengdu Major, TNC Predator, fell in the semifinals against Team Adroit. The latter made their way to the grand finals and there they managed to take down Geek Fam after what was 5 intense games.

China

In China PSG.LGD showed everyone they’re back in the game. The team didn’t lose a single game during the two series they played. Winning with a 2:0 against Invictus in the semifinals and defeating Vici Gaming with a hat-trick.

CIS

HellRaisers and Natus Vincere met in the grand finals for the region and surprisingly the underdogs prevailed. Not just prevailed but completely stomped the yellow dream with a 3:0 victory.

The two regions that remain unresolved are Europe and South America. In Europe Nigma proved their victory over Team Secret during the Tug of War: Mad Moon was no coincidence as they defeated the top team once again. Nigma will face Team Liquid in the finals for the old continent. In South America, it’ll be Thunder Predator versus NoPing e-sports and there’s no telling who might take it as both teams have been doing quite well lately.

A CIS/Europe final

The champions of Europe and CIS will meet for yet another grand final which will most likely take place tomorrow. HellRaisers already secured a spot for it, but will it be Nigma or Liquid as the second contender? In any case, there’s still no official time set for the grandest of finals, but it will surely take place tomorrow March 26.

A North America All Star match

The matches for the region might be set and done but there’s still the All Star match. Fans will decide the players with their vote. You can leave one on Reddit or Twitter. The list of players you can vote for are:Cloud9: EternaLEnVy, Ace, Sneyking, MISERY, PieliedieCR4ZY: skiter, Bryle, KheZu, MoonMeander, Aui_2000Business Associates: Moo, Nine, Brax, MoOz, FearEvil Geniuses: Arteezy, Ryoya, BuLba, Cr1t-, Fly
